The 17th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation (REV) took place in Athens/Georgia from the 26th to the 28th of February. The REV is the annual conference of the International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) together with the Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC). Around 250 experts met for four days at the University of Georgia to discuss remote laboratories, engineering didactics and industry-related scenarios with the goal to share current developments, innovations and research results.
The conference was a good opportunity for the DigiLab4U-team to present first research results of the project to a broad professional audience.
Prof. Dr. Dieter Uckelmann from the HFT Stuttgart kicked off the DigiLab4U-speeches an thursday and spoke on the topic Safety and Security in Federated Remote Labs – A Requirement Analysis.
On Friday presented Davide Reveberi from the University of Parma his speech Integration of New Technologies and Alternative Methods in Laboratory-Based Scenarios. And in a parallel session spoke Valentin Kammerlohr from the HFT Stuttgart on the subject Digitale Laboratories for Educating the IoT-Generation – Heatmap for Digital Lab Competences.
The conference was also a good opportunity to start the Call for Participation and invite lab-providers of other Universities to join the DigiLab4U-community and integrate their laboratory in the currently developed infrastructure. Professional exchange, lively discussions and an entertaining conference dinner rounded off the participation of the DigiLab4U team at the REV 2020.
We are looking forward to cultivate the newly acquired contacts and to continue the exchange of our experiences and research results in upcoming conferences. Stay curious 😉!
